7-Years-Old Transgender Child

Coy Mathis
Colorado, U.S. -- A transgender rights group announced Wednesday that it has filed a discrimination complaint in Colorado on behalf of a first-grader who was born a boy but identifies as a girl. The filing stems from a decision announced last December by officials at Fountain-Fort Carson School District that Coy Mathis could no longer use the girls' bathroom at Eagleside Elementary.
Mother Kathryn Mathis said she and her husband were shocked.
"We were very confused because everything was going so well, and they had been so accepting, and all of a sudden it changed and it was very confusing and very upsetting because we knew that, by doing that, shewas going to go back to being unhappy," she told CNN. "It was going to set her up for a lot of bad things."
Coy was born with male sex organs but has identified as female since she could express herself, her mother said.
The child had attended classes during herkindergarten year with no problems and no complaints from anyone at the school.

Coy Mathis' Family
Afraid bullies would make fun of her daughter, Kathryn Mathis said she pulled Coy out of school during winter break.
"In the end, we just want what is the best for Coy," Mathis said about the complaint. "We want her to be able to go back to school and be treated equally without discrimination and harassment."
Attorney Michael Silverman of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, which is representing Coy, said the complaint -- which was filed with the Colorado Civil Rights Division -- is intended to have an impact beyond a single family or school.
"For many transgender people, discrimination is a daily part of life. Unfortunately for Coy, it has started very early," he said, adding that the complaint is a "test of Colorado's Anti-Discrimination Act."
"The world is going to be looking at the school," he said, which can "send a message to the world and teach tolerance, fair play and equal rights."
A girl's life for a boy
For most of the past year, Coy has dressed as a girl.
Coy's passport and state-issued identification recognize her as female.
Kathryn Mathis said she got a call "out of the blue" from the school in December saying that Coy could use the boys' bathroom, gender-neutral faculty bathrooms or the nurse's bathroom, but not the girls' facilities.
The district "took into account not only Coy, but other students in the building, their parents and the future impact a boy with male genitals using a girls' bathroom would have as Coy grew older," a letter the family's attorney received in December said.
"However, I'm certain you can appreciate that, as Coy grows older and his male genitals develop along with the rest of his body, at least some parents and students are likely to become uncomfortable with hiscontinued use of the girls' restroom."
In a statement Tuesday, the district's attorney, W. Kelly Dude, said: "The district firmly believes it has acted reasonably and fairly with respect to this issue. However, the district believes the appropriate and proper forum for discussing the issues identified in the charge is through the Division of Civil Rights process. The district is preparing a response to the charge which it will submit to the division. Therefore, the district will not comment further on this matter out of respect for the process which the parents have initiated."

"It's sad that the Mathis family had to file a civil rights complaint in order for theirdaughter to be treated equally," said Herndon Graddick, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, in a statement. "The students clearly aren't the only people at this school who need more education."
A little-studied group
Transgender children experience a disconnect between their sex, which is based on their anatomy, and their gender, which includes behaviors, roles and activities, experts say.
Comprehensive data and studies about transgender children are rare. International studies have estimated that anywhere from 1 in 30,000 to 1 in 1,000 people are transgender. Some children as young as age 3 show early signs of gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder, mental health experts who work with transgender children say.
These children are not intersex -- they do not have a physical disorder or malformation of their sexual organs. The gender issue exists in the brain, though experts do not agree on whether it's psychologically or physiologically based.
Many transgender people report feeling discomfort with their gender as early as they can remember.
Gender identity is often confused with sexual orientation. The difference is that "gender identity is who you are, and sexual orientation is who you want to have sex with," said Dr. Johanna Olson, a professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of Southern California, who treats transgender children.
Children around age 3 are probably not interested in sexual orientation, she said. But experts say some children who look like they will be transgender in early childhood turn out to be gay, lesbian or bisexual.
Coy's case will be the first to challenge a restroom restriction under the state's anti-discrimination act, the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund said.
For now, the first-grader is being home-schooled.

Woman Drowns Son Because He Has A Small Penis

An Indonesian woman drowned her nine-year-old son in the bath, claiming she was worried that his "small man-hood" would affect his prospects for the future, a police spokesman said Thursday.
The 38-year-old woman from the Indonesian capital Jakarta told police her son had had a small man-hood prior to being circumcised, but that it appeared to shrink further after the operation, police spokesman Rikwanto told AFP.
"She told police investigators that she killed him as he would have a bleak future with his small man-hood," Rikwanto said.
"She drowned her son in a bathtub filled with water. She then dressed him and laid him on a bed. After that, she went to a nearby police office to report her crime."
Rikwanto said the woman was fully conscious of what she had done, but police ordered a psychiatry test to assess her mental condition.

6 Ways To Spot A Narcissist And End The Relationship

"I didn't see it coming. The chemistry was through the roof, the intimacy off the charts! I thought he was my soulmate. And then he disappeared. I'm devastated." Ever had this kind of experience? This means you have dated a narcissist, a man who cares more about his needs than yours, a guy who runs for the hills when you begin to fall in love.
How do you easily spot a narcissist so you can stop dating him/her for once and for all?
This article is dedicated not just for women dating a male narcissist - it holds true if you switched genders. Feel free to substitute woman for man.
It's pretty easy to spot the classic narcissist. Narcissism is defined as extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration.
It's a bit more complex when the man you're dating is cleverly cloaked as the charming "nice guy." It's intoxicating to be around him. He's fun and exciting. It feels like he's your true soul connection. It's easy to lose your head and heart once you become emotionally or sexually involved.
If you learn how to spot a narcissist from the outset of a relationship, you can stop dating him right away. You won't experience the shock and heartbreak. And soon you'll begin to attract healthier relationships into your life.
Here are six ways to recognize and stop dating a narcissist:
  • When you express your needs, he gets defensive. A narcissist puts his own needs first. He doesn't care about what matters to you, and will defend himself instead of apologizing. Address it the first time this happens and see how he responds. If he can't respect and honor your needs, walk away.
  • When the going gets tough, he gets going.A narcissist can't handle the pressures of your emotional life. He will be there for the fun times, but as soon as you have any type of personal crisis, he won't be there to support you. A good relationship is built on mutual support. This guy will not be there for you in tough times. Leave now, before it gets harder.
  • When he's hurt, he doesn't feel sad. He feels rage. If you express that you're upset with something he said or did, he will rage at you and deflect responsibility for his actions. A healthy relationship is one in which both parties feel safe, can express their needs without judgment, and take full responsibility for their contribution to the problem. If he can't do this, you should not stay with him.
  • He runs hot and cold. Narcissists will give you mixed signals. He'll be really into you, telling you that you're the most incredible woman he's ever met, and the next day, he is pulling away, acting aloof. It is crazy making. If you see these signs early on, it'll be easier for you to make a clean break.
  • He gets angry when you discuss exclusivity. Narcissists are often enamored with their freedom. If you talk to him about commitment after you've been dating for a few months, he will probably feel like a caged bird and blame you for wanting to box him in. In a healthy relationship, if one person is not ready to be exclusive, you can talk about it in a respectful way. You both get to choose whether it makes sense to stay or go. If a man is not on the same page as you in terms of monogamy, leave him to make room for one who wants an exclusive relationship.
  • His actions and words don't match. Pay attention to what he does more than what he says. Many narcissists are wordsmiths. They lure you in with their charming words, but they don't follow through with their actions. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. If he exhibits any of the above behaviors, you should get out of this relationship as soon as possible.
Don't make demands on him to change. He won't.
Don't nag him or play games with him, such as making him chase you by playing hard to get. These tactics will never get him to be the kind of guy with whom you can forge a healthy relationship.
Do speak to him with firm conviction. Tell him that this relationship is not working for you. And this is crucial: walk away, never to look back and hope for reconciliation.

15yrs Old Girl Raped By Her Father Is Sentenced To 100 Lashes For Engaging In Premarital Sex

A 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by her step-father, has been sentenced by a court in the Maldives to 100 lashes for having pre-marital sex with another man.
Police in the strict Islamic country had been investigating allegations the girl had been abused by her stepfather for years when they uncovered new evidence.
The girl and her step-father were first arrested after the body of a baby she had given birth to was found buried outside their house on Feydhoo in June 2012.
Her stepfather, who had reportedly been abusing the girl for years, is reportedly facing 25 years in prison for the rape and allegedly killing a baby conceived from it.
He has been charged with sexually abusing a minor, possessing pornography, and murder, while her mother has been charged with concealing a crime and murder.
The girl later admitted to police that she had had consensual sex with another man.It is not known whether he will face charges.
Court officials have said the flogging, will be carried out once the girl turns 18. Until that time she will be under house arrest.
The Maldivian government has reportedly urged the court to show leniency describing the girl as having been 'traumatised' by the rape.
Amnesty International described the charges against he girl as 'outrageous'.
A spokesman said: 'Victims of rape or other forms of sexual abuse should be given counselling and support - not charged with a crime.
'Flogging is a violation of the absolute prohibition on torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment.
'The Maldivian authorities should immediately end its use regardless of circumstances. The fact that this time a 15-year old girl who has suffered terribly is at risk makes it all the more reprehensible'.
'Flogging is not only wrong and humiliating, but can lead to long-term psychological as well as physical scars.'

Man Kills Mum, Dismembers And Scatters Her Body Parts Across Town

Via NY Daily News
A schizophrenic South Bronx man confessed Tuesday to dismembering his mom and scattering her body parts in garbage bags across the South Bronx, police sources said.
Deranged suspect Bashid McLean, 23 (pictured right), implicated himself in the gruesome death after investigators recovered a saw inside the apartment where he lived with victim Tanya Byrd (pictured right) and his 7-year-old brother, Nasyr.
Cops also found a shopping cart used to lug 52-year-old Byrd’s severed body parts from their home to four locations within walking distance of the murder scene, police sources said.

Byrd was terrified by McLean, who was on probation after coming at two cops with a knife in 2010, and suspected that he was battering little Nasyr. The younger brother has Down syndrome, according to one neighbor.
"I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Bashid killed her,” said a 43-year-old woman who lives in the building on Westchester Ave. in Melrose. “She was afraid of that boy. . .He was a hellion.”
When bruises began appearing on the special-needs child, Byrd suspected her older son, the neighbor said.
“Bashid had a problem controlling his rage,” said the neighbor. “He had creepy eyes. Didn’t like to look you in the eye — but when he did, they went right through you.”
Although McLean called police to report his mom was missing, he quickly emerged as a suspect in the gruesome killing, police sources said. Cops were questioning him at the 40th Precinct stationhouse late Tuesday.
McLean’s sister, Porsche Lovett, who visited him at the stationhouse, said he showed no remorse. “He looked me in the eyes and told me he did nothing wrong when he killed her,” she said. “I don’t know who he is.'Byrd’s body parts were stuffed in garbage bags and scattered throughout her neighborhood, with a dog walker spying her right leg protruding from a pile of garbage around 5 a.m., police said.
Three heavy-duty plastic garbage bags stuffed with body parts were found nearby.
The victim’s head, hands, torso, legs and shoulder were pulled from the trash bags, the sources said.
The brutal killing left McLean’s family members reeling — despite Bashid’s history of aggression and mental health problems.
“He did destructive things,” said his father, James McLean. “He set fires; nobody could control him. ”
The dead woman’s sister said Bashid nursed a grudge against Byrd over his placement in foster care while his mom battled a drug problem. They reunited when he turned 18.
“I want people to know my sister was a good mother,” said Cassandra McLean. “She always took care of him.”

Photos Of Afghan Teenager Whose Mutilated Face Shocked the World Unveils Her New Image

An Afghan teenager who was horribly mutilated by her husband under Taliban rule was all smiles as she unveiled her new prosthetic nose for the first time. Aisha, 19, shocked the world when she appeared on the cover of Time Magazine to lift the veil on the plight of many women in Afghanistan.

Yesterday, she bravely faced the public wearing a prosthetic nose - one that gives her some idea of how she will look after having reconstructive surgery. She went before the TV cameras to receive the Enduring Heart award at a benefit for the Grossman Burn Foundation - the Los Angeles-based organisation that paid for her surgery. She was given the award by California first lady Maria Shriver.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife told the audience: 'This is the first Enduring Heart award given to a woman whose heart endures and who shows us all what it means to have love and to be the enduring heart.' Aisha, whose surname has not been revealed, replied: 'Thank you so much.'

When Aisha was 12, her father promised her in marriage to a Taliban fighter to pay a debt. She was handed over to his family who abused her and forced her to sleep in the stable with the animals.

When she attempted to flee, she was caught and her nose and ears were hacked off by her husband as punishment. 'When they cut off my nose and ears, I passed out.

In the middle of the night it felt like there was cold water in my nose. 'I opened my eyes and I couldn't even see because of all the blood,' she told CNN reporter Atia Abawi.

Left for dead in the mountains, she crawled to her grandfather's house and her father managed to get her to an American medical facility, where medics cared for her for ten weeks. They then transported Aisha to a secret shelter in Kabul and in August she was flown to the U.S. by the Grossman Burn Foundation to stay with a host family.
This month, she had a prosthetic nose fitted at the non-profit humanitarian Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital in California as part of her eight-month rehabilitation. Dr Peter H Grossman said they hoped to give Aisha a more 'permanent solution'.
This could mean reconstructing her nose and ears using bone, tissue and cartilage from other parts of her body. Dr Grossman's wife Rebecca, the chair of the Grossman Burn Foundation, said Aisha was just one of the thousands of women who are treated with appalling harshness.
She said: 'Aisha is reminded of that enslavement every time she looks in the mirror. But there are still times she can laugh. And at that moment you see her teenage spirit escaping a body that has seen a lifetime of injustice.'

Man Who Lost His Penis In An Accident Finally Has It Rebuilt

A man has had his penis rebuilt using skin and fat from his arm.
Mohammed Abad's willy and one testicle were ripped off during a horror car accident when he was just six.
Mo, now 40, was playing in the snow with friends in Huddersfield in 1978 when he was accidentally pushed under a car and dragged for 600ft down a road.

Initially he was given just 12 hours to live, but he miraculously survived and spent the next 18 months in and out of hospital.
At the time doctors built Mo a tube using skin from his leg so he could urinate, but his new "penis" was entirely sensationless and had no sexual function.
He later faced questions from relatives about why he hadn't settled down, married and had children.
But while he knew the truth about his inability to have kids, he revealed it was never really spoken about at home.
Appearing on ITV1's This Morning today, Mo said: "My parents never sat me down from a young age and said 'when you were young you had an accident and we were told that you can't have (kids)', I've never been told that. I've had to find that out for myself."

And it wasn't until two and a half years ago, when Mo met his now wife, that he finally decided he was going to try to do something about it.
He went along to see the doctors from Channel 4 show Embarrassing Bodies, who put him in touch with experts who could help.
And now he will at last have a brand new fully-functioning manhood thanks to a series of revolutionary operations.
Mo, from Edinburgh, has so far undergone the first of three ops he will need to fully rebuild his penis.
Incredibly during the first 11-hour procedure doctors discovered a testicle that had been pushed up inside Mo's body during the accident.

Doctors will now look at whether the testicle is producing sperm. While Mo's next two ops will also see medics return sensation to his penis and fit a pump that allows him to become aroused.

15-Year-Old Girl Killed By Facebook Lover

The family of Facebook murder victim Katie Wynter have spoken of their "living hell" - to warn about the dangers of social networking sites.

Katie, a talented young art student, was duped into dating twisted loner Tony Bushby after he created four fake Facebook profiles.
His phoney friends all got to know the shy, church-going 19-year-old online and the messages he sent pretending to be them persuaded her to trust and like him.
Chillingly, at the same time, karate teacher Bushby was also watching violent "submissive black girl" porn and rape websites - and Googling murder methods for burying a body.
Six months after he convinced her to go out with him, Bushby killed Katie, stabbing her 23 times in a frenzied knife attack while she babysat her young nephew and niece - then tried to pin it on one of his fake Facebook friends.
Her grief-stricken mum Joy Briscoe warns: "Facebook is a dangerous thing, especially for young girls. As a parent, you don't know what your child is getting up to.
"I wish I'd kept a closer watch on her. You just expect your kids to be safe in your own home."
It is a year since Katie's funeral, but for support worker Joy, 57, and her elder daughter Sabrina, 31, their pain is still raw.
The brutal murder took place in Sabrina's home in Borehamwood, Herts, where Katie was staying overnight to babysit her niece and nephew, then aged four and five.
Joy went round to check all was OK and walked into a bloodbath.
She says: "I could hear the children chattering. I called out their names and they ran to the door.
"They were shouting, 'Grandma, Katie's dead'. My heart dropped into my stomach.
"Then I saw bloody footprints and, poking out from under the door frame, were Katie's feet.
"I ran into the kitchen and was confronted by something like out of a horror film - my little girl, covered in blood. I tried to lift her but she was already cold and stiff."
As police arrived Joy called Sabrina to break the terrible news. Sabrina, who has asked that her children are not named, says: "They still talk about it. It hurts so much to think of them carrying this image of their auntie in their heads. My daughter still draws pictures of Katie covered in red.
"I hope the memories of what they saw will fade one day - they remember it so vividly."
Katie had met Bushby, 19, at West Hertfordshire College in Watford, but their relationship developed online. He was in the year above and considered an outsider. After he had gained her trust through his Facebook lies, they started secretly dating in June 2011.
Joy had her suspicions about Bushby from the first time she saw him with Katie. She says: "His eyes were glazed. I had this horrible gut feeling about him. He seemed strange, anti-social."
Sabrina adds: "He was her first boyfriend so I thought she'd be excited to talk about him. But she would shrug off any question.
"We imagine she was told to keep quiet about their relationship. He wanted to cover his tracks."
They believe Bushby planned to kill Katie on December 23, but because she had told Sabrina she was meeting him, he changed his mind.
Instead he bombarded her with texts and Facebook messages over Christmas, then stabbed her to death on Boxing Day. In court, Bushby initially claimed the killer was Dan Tress - one of his fake Facebook friends along with Cyn Darwin, Shane Pleuon and Krystal Stanguard. But police confirmed all the profiles were his.
Bushby was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder at St Albans Crown Court in July last year.
For the family, losing Katie is a heartache they feel daily.
Sabrina says: "We will never forgive him. He's not just robbed us of Katie, he's destroyed us all as well.
"He's taken her life, but he's claiming all of ours. We're living on earth through hell."
Joy adds: "We need to speak out to make sure that social media crimes like this stop. Parents need to be more aware of what their children are doing online.
"If we can save one life, then at least something positive can come out of this tragedy."

"Fraud Is Not A Crime For Me, It's Business" Says Suspected Fraudste

A 39-year old suspected fraudster, Tony Obi, who was arrested by the police in Lagos, has confessed that he has no other business to sustain his family except duping people.
He said his wife knows that is what he is doing to feed her and their two kids. He also revealed that his wife prays for his success every morning before he goes out to look for people he would dupe.
He said he does not regard defrauding people as crime but rather a business because it involves two greedy people who engage in illegal transaction, adding that any of the parties might run into trouble and lose some money just like any other business.
The Abia State-born Obi said he abadoned his former business of selling foodstuff at Ijesha and joined a group of fraudsters after he was duped and since then there was no going back.
He also revealed that he started advanced fee fraud in Aba, Abia State, southeast Nigeria, and when the business was not thriving there, he relocated to Lagos to sell foodstuff and the business was also dull because he was not able to feed his family. He said the little money he was managing in his foodstuff business was also collected by fraudsters.
He said he had to go back to advance fee fraud (419) which he temporary abadoned with his wife's consent. He described 419 business in Lagos as lucrative because there are more gullible victims who want to get rich over night without working for it.
Obi explained that his group does not use charms as many believe, adding that they only use words of mouth to enchant and deceive victims. He revealed that his group usually operate around Ijesha, Cele, Mile 2, Oshodi and Maza Maza.
On how his gang escapes arrest by the police, he said they settle the police and their business is complicated because the victims who are complainants usually have criminal intentions and most of the time, the victims withdraw from the matter. Luck ran out on him when he allegedly defrauded Felix Ushie who resides at Amukoko of the sum of N128,000.
He allegedly collected the money purported to buy Chemical to wash black papers into naira notes. The victim believed him and gave him the money. Ushie was asked to come the following day to collect the money. According to the victim, when he went to their Ijesha office, he was told he had been duped. He went to Ijesha police station and reported the matter.
Obi was arrested and charged to Ijeshatedo Magistrate's court, Lagos for alleged involvement in fraud under the Criminal Code. He said he may consider leaving the business and go back to his village in Ubakala in Abia State after he settles the court matter.

PHOTOS: Seafood Lover Buys Oyster to Cure Hangover and Finds PEARL Inside

After tucking into one of the molluscs, he felt a lump in his mouth - and found the million-to-one stone. A seafood lover who bought an oyster to cure his hangover beat odds of a million-to-one - when he found a rare PEARL inside.

Lucky James Humphries bought two fresh oysters from his local fishmongers to help ease a headache caused by too much beer the night before. But after tucking into one of the molluscs, he felt a lump in his mouth. Warehouse manager James, said: "I thought a filling had fallen out.

It was only when I spat it out that I discovered it was a pearl. "It's small, but perfectly formed and I absolutely love it." Experts say the find is very rare as natural pearls are normally found in pearl oysters - not Pacific oysters that James had bought. James, 34, of Newquay, in Cornwall, picked up the oysters from E Rawle & Co fishmongers - as he does every Saturday morning.
He said: "They are the perfect hangover cure."
Fishmonger Gareth Horner, whose grandfather set up the business in 1936, said: "I've been here for 30 years and sold thousands of oysters - but I've never seen a pearl come out of one. "My dad has been in the business even longer and he's never heard of it either."

Wow! Homeless Man Who Returned Diamond Engagement Ring Rewarded

A homeless man will soon have well over $150,000 (£98,000) after he returned an engagement ring to a woman who accidentally dropped it in his cup earlier this month. Sarah Darling's fiancé set up a website seeking donations for Billy Ray Harris, who frequently panhandles on Kansas City's Country Club Plaza.

By Tuesday morning, more than 6,000 people had donated more than $148,000 to the fund. "I think in our world we often jump to like the worst conclusion, and it just makes you realise that there are good people out there," Ms Darling said. Mr Harris discovered the ring about an hour after.
Darling dumped spare change from her coin purse into his cup. She had taken off her ring earlier that day and put it with the coins. "The ring was so big that I knew if it was real, it was expensive," Mr Harris told KCTV.
Ms Darling was upset when she realised the next day what she had done. She went back to Mr Harris, squatted beside him and told him that she might have given him something valuable."Was it a ring?'" he recalled asking her.
"And she says, 'Yeah.' And I said 'Well, I have it.'
" Ms Darling gave Mr Harris all the cash she had in her wallet at the time. "It seemed like a miracle," Ms Darling said. "I thought for sure there was no way I would get it back." In explaining why he did not keep the ring, Mr Harris said he had a religious upbringing. "My grandfather was a reverend," Mr Harris said.
"He raised me from the time I was six months old and thank the good Lord, it's a blessing, but I do still have some character."

Cardinal Quits After Claims Of Sexual Advances

Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Britain's most senior Roman Catholic cleric, has resigned with immediate effect in the wake of allegations of inappropriate behaviour, he said in a statement on Monday.
O'Brien, who as Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh was leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland, denies allegations that he made sexual advances towards priests in the 1980s.
He had been due to be the only cardinal from Britain to vote on a replacement for Pope Benedict XVI following the pontiff's shock resignation on February 11.
But O'Brien confirmed that he would not now take part in next month's conclave.
"I will not join them for this conclave in person," he said. "I do not wish media attention in Rome to be focused on me - but rather on Pope Benedict XVI and on his successor."
In his resignation statement, O'Brien said: "Looking back over my years of ministry: for any good I have been able to do, I thank God.
"For any failures, I apologise to all whom I have offended."
O'Brien had been due to resign on his 75th birthday next month, but he said: "The Holy Father has now decided that my resignation will take effect today, 25 February 2013."
The allegations include claims that one priest received unwanted attention from O'Brien after a late-night drinking session, Britain's Guardian newspaper reported.
Another priest reportedly claims that O'Brien used night prayers as cover for inappropriate contact.
O'Brien has previously angered the gay community with his hardline public stance on homosexuality. He was named "bigot of the year" last year by the gay rights charity Stonewall.
He recently said that same-sex marriages would be "harmful to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of those involved" and has long voiced opposition to gay adoption.
But in comments this week he also called for the Catholic Church to end its celibacy rule for the priesthood.
A string of new scandals and allegations have emerged since Benedict became only the second pope in the Church's 2,000-year history to step down of his own free will.
Four members of the conclave are associated with the paedophile priest scandals that have dominated the German pope's eight-year rule.
Thousands of American Catholics have signed a petition calling for US cardinal Roger Mahony, accused of covering up for paedophile priests in Los Angeles for years, to give up his vote in the conclave.
And while 85-year-old Benedict cited his age as the main factor in his resignation, media have speculated that an explosive report into last year's "Vatileaks" scandal may have played a role.
The scandal saw Benedict's butler arrested, convicted and later pardoned for leaking confidential papers to the press.
The Vatican said on Monday that the report on the scandal, which exposed intrigue and corruption in the Church, would be shown exclusively to the future pope.

4 Signs That You Are Addict To Porn

While there are a lot of things much worse to find yourself addicted to than porn, porn addiction is real. Most guys would probably readily admit an addiction to porn-jokingly, of course. But apparently, porn can become a vice similar to alcohol or drug use.
Wow. Who would've thought that a few thousand X-rated movies stored on your hard drive would be an indicator of a porn addiction?

That stack of dirty magazines dating from the mid-1980s may be an indicator as well. All joking aside, here are four signs you have a legitimate porn addiction.
Porn hoarding. Apparently that mountain of dirty magazines is a sign of a porn addiction. There is no real reason to have porn magazines in 2011. You can have all the porn you want if you have a laptop and an Internet connection. Hoarding can still occur in the virtual world, however. If you find yourself spending hours upon hours using search engines to download and store porn on your laptop, you may have a problem. Hoarding can also show itself in the form of subscription after subscription to porn for pay sites.
Porn, porn everywhere. If you can't get away from porn, even just for a little while, you have a porn addiction. If you have porn on your laptop, porn on your smartphone and you still have the need to carry around magazines in your briefcase, seek help. Another sign is when porn begins to take up more and more of your day. Ask yourself this: What's your relationship with porn. If you spend time, only on the weekends, watching porn, you're probably OK. If, however, you've seen the time spent on porn increase over a period of time, you're addicted.
Getting in the way. If you find yourself replacing your normal activities with porn, you have a problem. You used to hang out with friends, but now you're hanging with your laptop. Porn addiction is like any other addiction. You replace aspects of your previous life with this addiction and, gradually, there's nothing but the addiction left. Coming to work late because of porn, not being able to even start your day without porn or sneaking to watch porn on your smartphone in the bathroom are all signs of an addiction.
Really serious. If, by chance, you lose something serious like a job or a relationship over porn and you continue to seek that porn for refuge, you're definitely addicted. Any other addict will do the same thing with their addiction. The very thing that has destroyed their lives is the very thing they continue to run back to. Replace your porn addiction with heroin, crack, alcohol and you'll see very similar results. Hopefully your addiction to porn never gets this severe. Ask yourself right now: As you read this, do you have two or three other windows open for porn viewing? Maybe you should cut back.

5 Unusual Sex Laws You Might Already Be Breaking

Many of us are under the belief that whatever consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom is legal, and their own private business. There is never any reason for the law to get involved as long as the act meets those parameters and nobody gets injured. However, that is not the case.
There are quite a few laws on the books that make certain sexual acts illegal. Here are sex weird sex laws you may already be breaking.
Breath Mints. It is illegal to make love to your wife in Alexandria, Minnesota if your breath smells like garlic, onions or sardines. At your wife's request, you must brush your teeth before engaging in sexual activity with her. If you refuse and engage in sex with her, you are breaking the law. Although if a woman asks you to stop for any reason, and you don't, isn't that also breaking the law?

Mother is Watching. There may be some strange sex laws on the books in the United States, but there are a lot of restrictions around the world as well. Take the city of Cali, Colombia, which is rough on the "swinger" lifestyle. Women are legally only allowed to sleep with their husband, and the first time a woman has sex with her husband, the woman's mother must witness the event.
Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands. You may want to think twice before you engage in masturbation while in Indonesia. There is a law on the books in that country that deems the act illegal. If you are caught masturbating in Indonesia, the penalty is decapitation. That seems just a tad extreme.
Ambulance Chaser. Watch what you do in an ambulance in the town of Tremonton, Utah. No woman may have sex with a man while riding in an ambulance while in that town. If a woman is caught having sex under those circumstances, she will be charged with a sexual misdemeanor. The town fathers in Tremonton may not have written a law that will not stand up to review. There are no such penalties listed for men. That's not equal justice. If women are going to be arrested for having sex in an ambulance, men deserve that right as well.
Controlled Aggression. When a man gets turned on, an erection is sure to follow. However, be careful where you point that loaded weapon. If you get an erection that shows under your clothing in the states of Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C., you are breaking the law.

4 Ways To Make Her Your Girlfriend

So… you like her. Actually, you like her a lot. You want to take that step from simply dating the young lady, to being in a relationship with her. Bridging the gap should be simple right?

You spend all your free time with her. You act like a complete gentleman. You're ready to jump at her every beckoning. Naturally, she should choose you to be her man, right? Not necessarily. But there is hope. You can take proactive measures to greatly increase the chances that she'll start an exclusive relationship with you.
These 4 tips on how to make her your girlfriend will prove quite useful.
"Be different". If you're dating a stunner, which all of you are no doubt, she's going to be used to boat loads of potential suitors. You have to manage to separate yourself from the pack of wolves scratching at her door. How do you do this? Simply be different. Most guys make the mistake of shelling out tons of rather dated and superficial compliments because they think that's what women want to hear. She knows she's attractive. Spend more time acknowledging the deeper things about her, like, say her brain or even her political ideology. Show her you view her as an entire person and not just a gorgeous accessory. She'll be thinking "girlfriend" even before you do. Oh, and don't forget to let her know you think she's hot too.
"Play by her rules". You want this chick to be your girlfriend, then don't make the classic male mistake of pressuring her to do so. She's feeling you out, so stay frosty. Trying to "convince" her to do anything is just going to backfire. Continue to be your awesome self. Continue to give her reasons to want to be around you… without making them look like reasons. Get it. Just go with her flow. Relationships very rarely develop by force. It's all natural baby, so be natural.
"Remember the little things". If favorite flower is a purple tulip, why would you buy her roses? If she loves double chocolate cookies, don't forget to grab her some. This shows that you pay attention to her. Even in conversation, bring up some minute detail about her that she wouldn't think you'd notice. It's ok to take her to grand dinners and expensive outings, but real women want to know that you're paying attention to them. They want to know that they're important to you. What better way to show your lady she's important then by pointing out things her own parents may not know?
"Be less accessible". Yes, less accessible? Up to this point, you've been given tips that'll separate you from the dogs. But, this particular tip should be considered the mortar you spread to hold the rest of the bricks together. Everything told to you before can lead you down one of two paths. You can either end up the boyfriend,or end up just a friend. Think about it. Her close friends will have her back. They'll know small details as well. Yes, they'll even compliment her on her brains, and style, and political understanding. What they won't do, however, is give her distance.
That's what friends are for, to always be there. In order to separate yourself from the friends, get her to miss you. Be your awesome self when you're around her, but give that "awesomeness" time to marinate in her brain. She'll begin to love having you near, and miss you when you're away. And that gentleman, is how you get her to look at you in a "boyfriend" kind of way.

Most Wanted Nigerian On FBI List, Has Been Arrested

He owned a hip hop record label and he lived the high life of luxury hotels, gambling, strippers and bling. But behind the glitz and the glamour Tobechi Enyinna Onwuhara was one of the FBI’s most wanted men, a fraudster who scammed at least $44 million through cyber crimes.

But the sophisticated con artist, who fled Florida in August 2008 amid an intense FBI investigation, has been caught in Sydney and sent back to the US to face a string of fraud charges.

Nigerian-born Tobechi Onwuhara, 33, was “provisionally arrested in response to a request from the United States Government” in December last year, according to a spokeswoman for the Australian Attorney-General’s department.

A spokeswoman for the AG’s department said Mr Onwuhara is to face prosecution in the US for fraud related offences, including identity fraud and computer fraud.

“On January 29, the Minister for Justice [Jason Clare] made a determination to surrender Mr Onwuhara to the US.

“As a matter of long standing practice, the Australian government does not comment on operational matters,” she said.

Fairfax Media understands Mr Onwuhara had been living it up in Sydney after disappearing in August 2008.

The FBI’s website now lists Mr Onwuhara as captured, but with scant detail of the arrest. They were offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The source who tipped off Fairfax said Mr Onwuhara had been making regular trips to The Star casino as well as splashing cash at numerous popular nightclubs.

“He would bet at the Star under a different name, he was a regular, then one day he just disappeared and someone told us he his wanted by the FBI,” a source said.

A spokeswoman for Echo entertainment, owner of The Star, did not return calls and emails. The US Consulate in Sydney also did not return calls.

An Australian Federal Police spokesman confirmed the AFP arrested Mr Onwuhara.

According to the FBI’s most wanted list. Mr Onwuhara is wanted for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scheme that defrauded the financial industry out of tens of millions of dollars.

“Onwuhara is a key member of a group of Nigerians who allegedly have been conducting fraudulent banking activities from Florida and Texas, since 2005,” the FBI’s most wanted website states.

“It is alleged that the group has been using online internet databases to steal victims’ identities.

“Once acquired, they allegedly use the victims’ information to gain access to the victims’ ‘Home Equity Line of Credit’ accounts and wire transfer the money to accounts mainly located overseas, some in the United States.”

Some of Onwuhara’s alleged co-conspirators have been arrested, inside and outside of the United States, the FBI’s website states.

Onwuhara was charged federally with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest by the US District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, on August 1, 2008.

Moving From In-Love To Long-Term Relationship Isn’t A Journey At All

If you've just found your ideal woman, read on - but be warned: This advice is going to cost you. For romance to blossom into a long-term relationship you have to have 22 meals out together, two holidays and spend at least £3,000 on gifts, according to researchers.

And if that sounds like hard work, you also have to weather seven major arguments to go the distance as a couple. Perhaps this is why the 2011 census found the number of single adults in the UK rose by more than 3million to 15.7million, while the number of married couples hardly moved at all in ten years.
The statistics were mirrored in the research by lifestyle advice site Socked.co.uk. Managing director Mark Hall said that while singletons are now able to meet online, as well as through old fashioned means, such as in bars or through mutual friends, the disposable nature of society seems to be catching, with people investing less time - and hard cash - in love.
Mr Hall said: 'We've sat down and done the actual maths and if we're correct, it's a wonder that the human race has actually managed to survive this long. 'By our calculations, only about 3 per cent of new relationships will last long enough to get the couple up the aisle or into the registry office.'
This is a long, risky process that requires skill, judgment and tact. 'We've taken it upon ourselves to help gentlemen find and keep their ideal partner.'
According to the research by Socked, long-term love requires: 22 meals out as a couple; five meals out with friends in groups of four or more; two holidays; meeting the parents; two stays at the parents' house. It also involves seven major arguments; finding approval of at least 55 per cent of partners' friends and relatives; at least £,3000 spent on gifts.

Bride Marries Someone Else As Groom Shows Up Late To The Wedding

Being late for his own wedding was costly for this groom. Groom Jameel was going to marry Nagma, at 10:30 am in the area of Muradnagar district in India, However the groom and his family arrived at the wedding at 6:00PM.

The bride and her family were very angry that the groom embarrassed the bride by not showing up to the wedding that they allowed the bride to marry another man.
When the groom and his family finally showed up many hours later the bride's angry family members beat them up.

Woman Stabs Daughter-In-Law To Death

A housewife, Mrs Kareen Opara, has gone underground after allegedly stabbing her son's wife, Esther Oluchi, to death in Anguwa Baba area of Nasarawa State. But the police have launched a hot chase to fish out the suspect.
The suspect, who was living in the same neighbourhood with his son, Chinedu and the deceased wife, hailed from Umueze Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State. She was alleged have been at loggerheads for sometime over a picture taken by the deceased at the wedding of Kareen's daughter, last December.
Trouble was said to have broken out between the late Oluchi and her mother-in-law when it was reported to her that Kareen was caught at a herbalist's home with one of the photographs she took at her son's wedding.
In a bid to retrieve the picture, Oluchi approached Kareen and pleaded with her to return the said picture to her but she ignored all pleas and rather took offence for the effrontery of her daughter-in-law.
Angered by what she saw as "confrontation" by her son's wife, she immediately confronted Chinedu and warned him to call his wife to order or risk being punished along his spouse.
Unknown to the son that the mother had not forgiven his wife for daring to ask her to return her picture, Chinedu tried to mediate in the spat to appease his mother and the wife.
Family sources said a peace meeting summoned by Chinedu to reconcile his mother with the late wife turned violent, as the mother who was armed with a sharp machete, went for her daughter-in-law, who was carrying one of her two daughters on her back and stabbed her in the tummy. The machete pierced through her abdomen and she bled to death. Sources said she was five-month pregnant.
Meanwhile, the suspect's husband, son and a neighbour, who were arrested in the wake of Oluchi's murder, have been released by the Nyanya Divisional Police Station and asked to be reporting there weekly until the matter was disposed off.
But the mother of the late Oluchi, Lauretta Anyanwu, told Vanguard, yesterday that it was wrong for the police to release the suspects when Kareen had not been arrested.

Dating Tips For The Recently Brokenhearted

It's a fact of life that sooner or later, we are going to have our hearts broken by someone that we love. When a relationship ends, we are left with an emptiness, a void, where there was once a person we were either dating or living with. When we are ready to get back into the dating scene, there are some helpful tips to help start a new relationship.
The number one thing you want to remember is that the rest of the world didn't break your heart, the one person did. It's important to remember that just because Fred cheated on you doesn't mean that Bob or Gordon will do the same. Just because Wanda ran off with the cereal factory tester doesn't mean that Betty will do the same. Keep in perspective that everyone else shouldn't pay for the pain that one person caused you. Don't jump from one relationship to another. It's not wise to immediately start dating after the end of a long relationship.
The rebound effect will most likely kick in and you could likely fall for anyone in the attempt to fill the void left by your former dating partner or spouse. Allow yourself time to heal before you date again. Start slow! Make dates that are fun and enjoyable, but where there is no pressure on you or your date for anything other than just enjoying each others company. Dates with another couple are a good idea because it gives the added benefit of not being alone with a date too soon.
If you are not ready to get serious with someone again yet, it's a good idea to make it clear up front that you are fine dating as friends, but that you want to keep it at the friend level. It's not a good idea to keep this to yourself and to lead the other person to believe you are more serious than you really are. Keeping dates on a friendly level after coming off of a broken relationship is beneficial because you get to know the person, and you can build your trust back up while continuing to heal from the broken relationship, and you can be sure you are not just dating on the rebound from the previous relationship. It takes time to learn to trust again and to love again. When a relationship ends it's natural to want someone else to be in your life.
Starting to date again is the first step in finding the person who is not only a good friend, but the one who understands you, who listens to you, encourages you, and believes in you. To begin dating again is the beginning of a wonderful new relationship.

Catfish Yourself

Recently the term catfish has become a media catchphrase used in stories about the couples who fall in love on the Internet, and also to warn people about getting romantically bamboozled by a total stranger. No, no. You don't want to get catfished-or do you?
Well, that depends. Sometimes, a healthy dose of catfishing can improve your love life, that is, if you're the one pulling the puppet strings.
Let's say for example, you've been dumped. Whether you want your boyfriend back or wish to drive him crazy with jealousy, catfishing yourself may be for you.
Want to try it? Follow these steps to creating an online profile for your fake boyfriend:
  • Choose his photo wisely: Can he be hot? Absolutely. Should it appear as though he was ripped from the pages of Abercrombie? Cool it. If you find yourself trolling guys from Crest ads, ask yourself: Did your ex happen to meet a gorgeous model after your breakup? No? Then neither did you.
  • Craft his persona with care: As you may or may not have discovered in the real world, it can be tough to find a guy who's both gorgeous and brilliant. So pick a side. If he's breathtaking, he didn't go to Harvard. If he's a member of Mensa, he won't have chiseled abs. Your best bet is to strike a happy medium: Hot and smart with a smattering of interesting yet run-of-the-mill hobbies so he's well-rounded but not unattainable. Rock climbing? Sure. Spends his time trying to solve the Riemann Hypothesis? Prolly not.
  • Befriend, befriend, befriend: Remember, this is an investment, of both your emotions and your time. So while it's tempting to already be "seeing someone" the day after the breakup, this breed of revenge needs time to marinate. In order to make your profile look realistic, your new boyfriend has to have friends. And not just a few, but at least 100. So befriend everyone you know as well as everyone they know. Plus, don't be afraid to send random strangers friend requests. The more the merrier!
  • Post sweet nothings: Once your profile is completed, you're ready to message yourself. The key here is subtlety. Instead of updating your relationship status (too obvious), evoke a little mystery by writing strategic messages on your wall. Examples: "It was great seeing you this weekend", "What are you up to later?" and "Pretty picture!" These sentiments are benign enough to not give you away completely but attentive enough to raise suspicion. Also: Cool it with the "Likes" or you'll come off as stalker-y.
  • Create the illusion of romance: Of course, what's a boyfriend without some proof? So he won't seem like the Snuffleupagus of Facebook, make a point to learn Photoshop to doctor your photos so they reflect a real-life relationship. If you don't own the program already, try an app like Superimpose. But whatever you do, don't be this girl.
  • Stay mum: This can't be emphasized enough: Do not share your secret with anyone. Not your cube mate at the office, not your sister, and definitely not your friends. While everyone may think it's momentarily hilarious, you'll come off as unhinged. Plus, the potential to be outed is far too great.
  • Pick an end date: The charade can't go on forever so while you're catfishing, be mindful of the effect. If you're stirring interest from your ex, then mission accomplished. If all you're getting is radio silence, go out and find yourself a real boyfriend.

HIV/AIDS Cure Found?

Another major breakthrough was reported in the search for a cure for AIDS. After bone marrow transplantation, two HIV-infected men have no longer any trace of the virus that causes AIDS in their cells, researchers have disclosed.

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cells and are a key part of the immune system...
To United States investigators, the bone marrow transplant, together with the continuation of anti-retroviral therapy is a confirmed positive development as a result of the dramatic effects evident eight months after transplantation. They are scheduled to present their findings on Thursday at the International AIDS Conference in Washington, DC.

The findings are “exciting,” said Dr. Savita Pahwa, director of the Center for AIDS Research at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He added that “Each clue that is obtained that it is possible to eliminate latent HIV must be investigated” for the good of humanity.

Obama Asks Supreme Court To Allow Gay Marriage

The Barack Obama administration took another step toward institutionalizing gay marriage, formally asking the US Supreme Court to strike down a 1996 law defining marriage exclusively as a union between a man and a woman.

The request was contained in a legal brief filed Friday with the US court, whose nine justices will next month review whether or not to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which bans marriage between homosexuals.
The document marks the first time a president has endorsed same-sex marriage rights before the Supreme Court.
According to the filing, the Defense of Marriage Act "violates the fundamental constitutional guarantee of equal protection" before the law stipulated by the US Constitution.
DOMA "denies to tens of thousands of same-sex couples who are legally married under state law an array of important federal benefits that are available to legally married opposite-sex couples," read the brief signed by US Solicitor General Donald Verrilli.
The case before the Supreme Court involves Edith Windsor, a lesbian who married in Canada in 2007 but whose spouse and partner of 40 years died. She was required to pay more than $360,000 in federal estate taxes because she was not considered married under DOMA.
The White House position, however, came under fire from Republicans in the House of Representatives.
In a brief filed Friday, they insisted they have a legal right to defend the law in the Supreme Court in the absence of a defense from the executive branch.
Last month, 10 US senators urged the court to uphold the act and not to recognize same-sex marriages from other states.
All of these senators had voted for the Defense of Marriage Act and in a friend-of-the-court brief, they said it was inconsistent for the Justice Department to have assured Congress the law was constitutional while it was being crafted in the mid-1990s only to raise questions now.
"The time to speak was in 1996, when Congress gave careful consideration to the need for DOMA," they argued.
The Obama administration's decision to challenge the law comes as little surprise. Obama has signaled on various occasions recently that he is that he is in favor of gay marriage.
During his second inaugural address last month, the president drew parallels between the struggle for gay rights and the Civil Rights movement of past decades.
"Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law, for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well," Obama said.
He also drew a parallel between several watershed struggles in US history: the landmark Seneca Falls convention in 1848; the 1960s civil rights battles; and the Stonewall riots of June 1969, which are widely seen as having launched the gay rights movement.
Obama's also chose gay poet Richard Blanco to read a specially composed poem at his second inauguration.
Already during his first term in 2011, Obama abolished the Pentagon's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy requiring military recruits to hide their homosexuality, or risk being expelled from the service.
In 2012, he became the first sitting US president to speak out in favor of gay marriage.
This past week, the Pentagon officially extended some military benefits to same-sex partners, but said services like medical coverage would not be offered to gay troops' spouses because of DOMA.
"One of the legal limitations to providing all benefits at this time is the Defense of Marriage Act, which is still the law of the land," Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said.
About 17,000 same-sex couples in the armed forces were affected by the decision, including 5,600 active duty service members.
The effect of the DOMA law is to ban gay marriage at the federal level. After victories in several local referendums however, it is now legal in nine out of 50 US states and in Washington DC.

Doctor Accused Of Raping, Killing Pregnant Woman

A doctor charged with raping and killing a pregnant woman who responded to an online job ad pleaded not guilty Thursday and is expected to be released on $1 million bail.
Dr. Ali Salim will be on house arrest once he's released from Delaware County Jail as soon as Friday and must surrender his passport and wear a GPS monitoring device until his trial scheduled for early May.
Salim, 44, of Ohio, is accused of killing Deanna Ballman, 23, and her unborn child last summer with a fatal dose of heroin after she responded to an ad for a housekeeper placed by Salim. Ballman was nine months pregnant when she was killed.
Her family has said the ad was for housecleaning services, but Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O'Brien, without elaborating, said Thursday, "that's not quite what we've found."
Delaware County Judge Duncan Whitney rejected prosecutors' arguments for bail of $5 million on the grounds that Salim, a Pakistan native, had reason to leave the country. Prosecutors and Salim's attorney both said they expect Salim to make bail.
Assistant county prosecutor Kyle Rohrer said Salim tried to tamper with evidence and would be a flight risk once he learns that investigators recovered it.
"We believe this is not an isolated incident and that he remains a threat to others in the public if he's released," Rohrer said.
Prosecutors say other women had responded to ads placed by Salim, including one woman who said Salim wanted to paint internal organs on her body.
Rohrer also argued Salim treated Ballman's body "in a very inhumane way." O'Brien, the county prosecutor, declined to elaborate after the hearing.
Salim's attorney said he has represented Salim since last summer and throughout the investigation, including a meeting with investigators in October where Salim provided hair samples.
"If he was going to flee, it would have happened," argued Sam Shamansky, who also noted Salim has been in the country for two decades.
Salim, dressed in an orange jail suit, sat at a table with Shamansky during the hearing and answered questions from the judge.
Licensure information from the state indicates Salim was born in Pakistan and trained there at King Edward Medical College, graduating in 1993. He told the State Medical Board of Ohio that his specialties were internal medicine, emergency medicine and psychiatry.
Salim was working at a health care facility in neighboring Knox County but lost his privileges there once the case became public, Shamansky said.
Shamansky declined reporters' request to talk to Salim.

"I Was Tortured And Raped By Large Groups Of Men"- 11-Year-Old Sex Slave Shares Her Encounter

A young girl has told a court how her sex attacker branded her with his initial.
The child was just 11 when Mohammed Karrar, 38, allegedly bought her and loaned her to abusers all around the country for £600 a year.
She told a court yesterday about being mutilated by a hairpin, saying: 'After heating it up for a little while, he stuck it on my bum.
'It was M for Mo and he said I belonged to him. He was branding me so people knew I was his.'

Over five years the girl, now 19, was repeatedly raped by large groups of men in what she described as 'torture sex', the jury was told last month.
Seven men of Pakistani origin and two from North Africa are accused of 79 offences against six vulnerable white British girls. The charges include child rape, sexual trafficking and child prostitution.
Noel Lucas QC, prosecuting, said Karrar - known as Egyptian Mo - bought the youngest victim from an unnamed man just after her 11th birthday.
He befriended her with gifts of perfume and hard drugs but then began to beat her up and raped her, the Old Bailey was told.
He branded her with one of her hair pins, which he had twisted into the shape of an 'M' and heated with a cigarette lighter. It left a scar on her left buttock.
'He regarded her as his property,' Mr Lucas said. 'He showed her no regard. If she had the temerity to resist, he beat her.
'He branded her to make her his property and to ensure others knew about it.' At the age of 12 she was introduced to Karrar's brother Bassam, 33, who is also accused of raping her.
The girl 'describes the Karrars as sick sex monsters', Mr Lucas said. 'They were always talking about sex and spoke about women in a vile manner.
'Mohammed Karrar liked her to dress up and act out role play. Both brothers used to beat her.'
From the age of 12 the girl was sold to groups of Asian men who violently raped her in private homes and guesthouses around Oxford and elsewhere. Sometimes she was injected with heroin or given date drugs to ensure she complied with the gang's sick demands, it was alleged.
Mr Lucas added: 'It became routine for her to be taken to various locations, houses and hotels by the Karrar brothers so she could treat their guests. She would be made to dress up, wear very short skirts and a bikini top, do her hair and put on lots of make-up.
By the end of the evening she would have been sexually used and abused by all the men. She would be so drugged up as to be unable to feel the pain.'
Just after her 12th birthday the girl told Karrar she was carrying his child. He allegedly beat her up and then took her to a house in Reading where she was given a 'backroom abortion' using a crochet hook.
On other occasions Karrar raped the girl in the living room of her own home as her father slept in another room, it was said.
Sometimes his friends would arrive at her house and they would allegedly rape her too. The girl, who came from a troubled family, naively believed 'Mo' loved her and was going to marry her when she was 16, the court heard.
During a trip to the Lake District in 2007, when she was 14, she is said to have been called by Karrar on her mobile phone.
David Hughes, a social worker, answered and Karrar allegedly asked to speak to her.
When Mr Hughes refused, Karrar allegedly said: 'If you don't get her I'll **** you up, I'll **** her up and I'll **** her mum.' Later the girl told the social worker of 'men who took her to houses'.
In January 2008, she told police a man called 'Egyptian Mo' had raped her in London nine months previously. Two years later the girl contacted her alleged attacker for an apology but was raped again, the court heard.
Kamar Jamil, 27, Akhtar Dogar, 32, his brother Anjum Dogar, 30, Assad Hussain, 32, Mohammed Karrar, Bassam Karrar, Mohammed Hussain, 24, Zeeshan Ahmed, 27, and Bilal Ahmed, 26, deny all the charges against them.
The trial continues.

Bus Driver Gets 160-Year Jail Term For Sexually Assaulting And Videotaping Children

A bus driver who admits sexually assaulting and videotaping the special needs children he transported has been sentenced to 160 years in prison.
Forty-six-year-old New Hampshire resident, John Wright received the maximum sentence Friday after pleading guilty in September to five counts of sexually exploiting children and one count of possessing child pornography.
Investigators say Wright drove special needs children from Strafford and Rockingham counties in New Hampshire and from nearby Kittery, Maine. They say they found thousands of images of child pornography on his computer.
U.S. Attorney John Kacavas say some of the children were completely non-verbal and others had a variety of disabilities. He says it's beyond his capacity to achieve justice for the young victims despite Wright's long sentence.

Jealous Man Stabs Younger Brother To Death While He Was Sleeping

Culled from Vanguard
Policemen attached to Ilemba Hausa division have arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his brother, a Merchant Navy to death while he was asleep.
The incident, occurred at the early hours of Wednesday morning  February 21 at Oritse Street in Imude community, under Oto-Awori local development council area of Lagos.
After allegedly committing the devilish deed, the suspect, Allen Biodun, 30 (pictured right), reportedly dragged the remains of his brother, Allen Olawale Ayetimi, 24 (pictured left), to an uncompleted building behind their compound and dumped it inside the foundation of the building, covered it with leaves.
Thereafter he quietly went to his room and took his late brother’s ATM card, his Merchant navy uniform and phone.

Crime Guard gathered that the deceased only returned from an official trip to Port Harcourt at about 11pm Tuesday. Although, the late Olawale was based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. But his mission to his family’s house as reliably gathered, was to settle a score between his elder brother and mother.
Neighbours who referred to Biodun as a terror in the area, alleged that he was also responsible for the death of his father two years ago. He was alleged to have poisoned his father’s food in order to take over his three-bedroom bungalow as inheritance.

After his father’s death, Biodun reportedly chased his mother and siblings out of the main building, giving them the two shops in front of the house.

No one, could however tell whether there was any scuffle between Olawale and his elder brother on his arrival. But Crime Guard gathered that there had been a lingering dispute between the duo.
Sources attributed the dispute to petty jealousy which could be likened to that of the biblical Cain and Abel story.

The death of their father as gathered, saddled Olawale with the responsibility of catering for members of his family, since he was the only one who was working among them. Unknown to him, his good will did not go down well with his elder brother, who on the other hand, reportedly resorted to burglary and bullying as a means of survival.

At other times, Biodun reportedly did menial jobs. But the fear of Biodun in the environment was the beginning of wisdom.

“After the death of his father, he took to burglary. Everybody is afraid of him in the street. The only thing people did was to close their doors or even enter their rooms whenever they see him coming. Even if you see him stealing your property, you have no option than to beg him to return them because if you shout at him, he will beat you and nobody will come to your rescue”, a resident said, when Crime Guard visited.

Another possible reason attributed to the seeming ‘cold war’ between the duo as gathered, followed Olawale’s refusal to sometimes meet with Biodun’s financial demand, an action the latter took as intimidation and disrespect on his person.

Journey to Death:
On arrival from Port Harcourt that fateful day, Olawale reportedly washed his uniform, took his bath and shared a brief moment with his mother and siblings in the shop they were confined to,during which he informed them that his mission home was to convince his brother to accept them back into the main building, unaware that he would never live to see his mission accomplished. Before retiring to his bedroom which he shared with his elder brother, Olawale was said to have instructed one of his sisters to boil water for him to bath the next morning.

But apprehension set in at about 7am Wednesday, after his sister went to inform him that the hot water was ready, only to discover his blood stained clothes on the floor, without any sight of him. As she was about to leave the room, she reportedly met Biodun, who informed her that Olawale had gone to the bank. Unsure of what to do, his sister, reportedly alerted her mother who raised an alarm that created a scene in front of the building.

At that moment, a neighbour identified as Mr Sunday Abogunrin, disclosed to the gathering that he saw Biodun hours back, dragging something on the ground. Their greatest fear was confirmed when Biodun bolted at the verge of being questioned about the whereabouts of his younger brother.
No one could at first run after him, apparently unsure of what he could be up to. It only took the efforts of a man among the crowd to catch him. After much persuasion, Biodun reportedly took the crowd to where he laid the remains of his younger brother. On closer look, a deep cut, was discovered in the late Olawale’s neck and forehead.

How I killed my brother
A mild drama reportedly unfolded as Biodun, according to eye witnesses, started behaving like someone that was mentally ill, following his incoherent statement. But at a point, he reportedly confessed to have stabbed Olawale while he was sleeping.

The neighbour who claimed to have seen Biodun dragging the body of Olawale, told Crime Guard that: “I came out at about 1 am to ease myself at the backyard, when I noticed some movements. Out of curiosity, I peeped to see who it was, only to find Biodun dragging something on the floor. When I finished from the toilet, he was returning from where he went. I noticed his hands were stained with blood and when I asked where the blood came from, he said he just killed a goat. I never suspected anything, so, I went inside to sleep. It was when I heard shout from their compound in the morning that I had to disclose what happened”

The residents who wondered why a man could go as far as taking his own brother’s life, were however not too surprised, as some of them claimed they saw it coming.
According to one Ochukwo:“It is unfortunate that Olawale died. Biodun has actually made do his threat because he had on several occasions boasted that he would be the one to kill Olalwale someday. He had stabbed him before during a fight and since then, had told several persons that he would kill him someday”.

On why nobody cared to inform the police about Biodun’s threat , the residents said they would not want a situation whereby he would come after them at the end of the day.
Crime Guard gathered that Biodun’s mother and siblings were currently not only devastated by the tragic incident but were also afraid Biodun could carry out a more dastardly act if let off the hook.
He was however, handed over to the traditional ruler of the community, who thereafter, invited the Police.
